"Empowering You" is a leadership and self-development program created by Victory Mohamed that serves youth around the state and our nation. "Empowering You" also serves as Victory's pageant platform program.

Mission
“Empowering You” hopes to create positive, influential future leaders around the world through a leadership and self-development program. With the hope of empowering individuals, the program will try to develop individuals to excel in life through teaching them about and letting them have first hand experience in making ethical and moral decisions, team building, improving their self-confidence, giving back to their communities and more.

Vision
To create a leadership development program that teaches individuals to believe in themselves and their ability to excel, in order for them to one day empower others. Participants will actively engage in and learn from workshops, role-playing, and various empowering out-of-the box opportunities.

- Leadership 101
o What makes a good leader? What skills are necessary to take control of a project and lead it to success? What is success? Led by proven, local leaders, this portion of the program will encompass each of the others but will seek to find leadership qualities within each individual and work to bring it out through group work and individual though process. This is basis of the entire day program and will be a guide to everyone for the day. Everyone will go through this during the “orientation” section of the day and the “wrap up” portion as well.
- Make the Best First Image
o Going to an interview? Meeting someone important in your field? With this section, learn what to wear, how to introduce yourself, how to have a “positive handshake”, what is presentable and more. This is important to the leadership development program because it will instruct individuals on typical, obvious tips that will help them succeed.
- Find Your Niche, Develop It, Give Back
o This program will bring in local organizations that need volunteers. The organizations will introduce themselves and encourage individuals to find their own interest in programs and work with those programs. This section of the leadership development is important because it shows individuals how important it is to give back to their local community, opens the opportunity for well-rounded individuals, gives individuals real-world work experience, and helps students complete their required volunteer hours for high school graduation.
- Public Speaking
o Many Americans fear public speaking more than death itself. Why? Through bringing in influential speakers from the local community, individuals will be encouraged to speak with confidence about themselves, among other things. Individuals will walk away from this section with the ability to fearlessly introduce themselves, present projects, go through an interview. This portion is important to leadership development because every influential person needs the ability to speak to groups and individuals with confidence. In addition, this program will help build the confidence of individuals for high school/college interviews, work interviews, and more.
- Team Building
o It is important to not only be able to speak well and direct well, but build your team well. This portion is crucial to leadership development because successful individuals will need to successfully build their teams to work for positive results.
- Carry Yourself With Confidence
o Walk straight, stand tall, and smile? Why? Learn the importance of carrying yourself with confidence to gain the best results. To be a successful leader, one must believe in themselves, and thus, carry themselves with confidence. This is vital to leadership development because no leader can afford to be weak and appear to have a lack of confidence- one should always portray the best image possible.
- Interview Skills and Resume Building
o Learn the essentials of job/school interviewing, from what to wear, to what to say, to how to sit! In addition, learn how to build your resume in the right way, what employers/admission directors are looking for etc. And of course, learn about the typical questions asked in interviews (and even those that are not so normal) and how to handle them with confidence, poise, and grace. Participants will also have the opportunity to mock interview!
Other possible topics: Positive body language, Group Facilitation, Self-Esteem/Confidence Building, Making Ethical and Moral Decisions and more.
EMPOWERING YOU has also developed into a mentoring program and includes the following:

Two cultural dance groups in Baltimore that compete and perform year round. The groups focus on sharing the Indian/West Indian culture around the country. Visit our website for more!
- Miracles Happen Fundraisers
Fundraisers for Children's Miracle Network that are held each year in Baltimore. In the past two years, we have raised over $4,000.00! MHF encourage youth to participate in activities that test their abilities and "comfort zones", for example, we put kids on stages and runways to develop their self-confidence and self-perception.
