Emceeing for MAO Local!

A special thanks goes out to Caressa Ledford, my dear friend, for entrusting me with emceeing her Miss America local pageant on November 5th; crowned were Stephanie Kelman, of Frederick, and Joanna Guy, of Swanton. Stephanie and I have competed together for the title of Miss Maryland before and Joanna is a former Miss Maryland's Outstanding Teen...both are amazing young women and I can't wait to see them grace the stage at the 2012 Miss Maryland pageant! Steph will compete as Miss Historic Maryland and Joanna as Miss Queen State. Be Victorious (my company) will provide makeup consultations and lessons to both titleholders, crown boxes to both titleholders, and consultations for the state pageant. Both young women also walked away with $500 scholarships; $100 of the Miss Queen State scholarship will be donated by Be Victorious Pageant and Image Prep (www.BeVictoriousPrep.tk)

Also crowned were two appointed teens: Hannah Brewer and Sabrina Frost. Be Victorious (my company) will provide makeup consultations and lessons to both titleholders, crown boxes to both titleholders, and consultations for the state pageant.

Miss Greater Springfield Pageant, Sept 17th

A special thank you to my mentor, Mr. Dale Bradshaw, for entrusting me with the official job of "judge" at the 2011 Miss Greater Springfield Teen/Pre-Teen/Little Miss/Petite Little Miss pageant; this pageant is an official preliminary of the Miss America/Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageants. It was a honor to be chosen for this panel...not to mention, it was an honor to sit as the "center judge"!

I only have one photo from the day as of right now, but just wanted to share this honor with you! <3

Interview with State Senator Catherine Pugh

Hello!

Yes, it's been quite the break since my last post, but I assure you that I have not been on break! Instead, like usual, so many things are happening my life and I just wanted to update you briefly on one amazing opportunity that I had recently.

Right before the primary election this September, I had the opportunity to interview one of the candidates for Mayor of Baltimore. While the election had a very low turnout, many people watched my interview with one of the candidates the weekend prior: State Senator Catherine Pugh.

Take a look!

"Improve and Progress" Entrepreneurial Radio Show - I did a radio interview on 06/12/11!!

While at the Think Big Baltimore conference on July 13th, I reconnected/officially met Mr. Omar Muhammad - a business consultant, radio host,  and growth coach from Morgan State University. I did an interview with Omar on his entrepreneurial radio show ("Improve and Progress") on 88.9 WEAA FM on June 12th, thanks to Ms. Cheryl Wood, my dear mentor and entrepreneurial role model.

I just realized (after we officially met today) that I should have blogged about my interview! So here is the link to the interview - I advise you to listen to the whole program (as Omar only has amazing advice and information) and to tune into his show weekly. However, if you just want to hear me, scroll over to about 46:00!

By the way, Cheryl, if you are reading this blog - thank you for continuing to be the inspiration that you are. You encourage young women (and budding entrepreneurs) like myself to challenge ourselves and think outside the box. When we first met, I had never officially "networked" at an event and it was you that gave me the courage (and somewhat of a brief outline) of how I should proceed to achieve mu goals in a room of empowered and progressing individuals. Thank you for all you do and will continue to do.
